7/31/10, Saturday - Joint Management Board Reign Ends. Consistent with a decision of Moose International at its July Nashville Convention all Joint Management Boards cease to exist July 31, including the Mankato Moose Family Center's JMB which was created in April 2004. The 7 member board had been handling the business duties associated with the Lodge leaving the fraternal matters to the Men's Loyal Order of Moose (LOOM) Lodge #1414 and Women of the Moose (WOTM) Chapter #606. Until a decision is made locally on whether to have the two fraternal boards formalize a different governance structure, the day-to-day management of the social quarters of the Lodge reverts back to the House Committee of LOOM Lodge #1414.

7/28/10, Wednesday - Men's LOOM Adopts Complimentary Meal or Beverage Card for Prospective Members. Up to $3 per card for each new member prospect with the card issued by a LOOM member. The LOOM member must be at a LOOM reguar meeting to get up to 5 new member prospect complimentary cards.

7/22/10, Thursday - Moose Lodge Team won the City-Wide Baseball Championship in the 14-15-16 age group. Congratulations to Team Captain Ben Yokiel and Coach Mark Spangler. The Lodge honored its heros with a free meal on Wednesday, July 28, 2010, at the Moose Lodge where the winning trophy and award certificates were shared. The Moose Lodge sponsored youth baseball team defeated Mr. Monogram in an intense nailbiting 10-9 game.

6/9/10, Wednesday - LOOM Donates $4,000 to Moose Family Center - Joint Management Board President Mike Lindblom praised the fraternal order of LOOM (Loyal Order of Moose) for their $4,000 donation approved by LOOM's membership on June 9, 2010. LOOM Governor Tony Albang indicated that the funds were needed and the allocation was part of the approved LOOM budget plan for fiscal 2010-11.

5/25/10 Tuesday - Gov. Albang Breaks Rules, Issues Meal Cards- New Loyal Order of Moose (LOOM) Governor Tony Albang, riding on his election success at the ballot box, proposed on May 12th at the LOOM General Membership Meeting a new comprehensive membership retention campaign. A credit card-sized LOOM meal ticket ("buy 5, get one free") was the centerpiece of the initiative. There's a pretty liberal definition in place of what constitutes a "meal" when you're earning your first five stamps - an over-the-counter hot beef sandwich even counts. An Albang letter, complete with companion meal ticket, was mailed May 25th. Now we wonder what the Women of the Moose (WOTM) Chapter 606 will do to catch up with "Race Horse Tony" - Go Get'm Ladies!

WOTM Senior Regent Lisa Tscherter reminds all that $1,000 was donated in April to keep the doors open of the Mankato Moose Family Center. Apparently, WOTM was tired of hearing about donations dropped in by the Men's LOOM - New bragging rights are afforded to Chapter #606 - Great Job!

Leaders for the Women of the Moose (WOTM) Chapter #606 include: Senior Regent Lisa Tscherter; Junior Regent Sandy Albang; Junior Graduate Regent Kim Larson; Secretary-Treasurer Roseann Sheldrup; Recorder Lorie Sexe Sommers; and Chaplain Winona Zimmerman. Many of these folks were sworn in on Sunday, April 18th, with other LOOM officers sworn in on Wedesday April 28th.
