Moose Family Picnic @ Camp Patterson A Success
For two days August 9-10, 2008, Moose members, their kids and families took over the 18 acre 150 bed Camp Patterson facility on nearby Lake Washington. Only 15 minutes outside of Mankato, Camp Patterson's facilities were a hit - sandy beach, watercraft, archery range, ping pong tables, pool table, dining hall, and the outdoor fire ring for roasting marshmellows. Most of the ten cabins were filled and Moose members were the first to use four new 17' canoes that had been brought just hours before we landed. Weather was great. There were no boat sinkings though a kayat was swamped. Paddleboats were great fun. Kids were swimming all the time. Singing around the camp fire ring was something different though the teenagers didn't always like the old songs. The pontoon rides around the lake were a highlight.

11th Annual Wild Game Feed & Feather Party - Sunday, Jan. 27, 2008
Feather Party starts at 1 PM. The wild game will be served as soon as we are done cooking on or about 3 PM. If you or someone you know has some game that could be donated to this great event let us know by January 18th. (Either you cook it or we will cook it.) To offset costs there will be a donation plate available for those with compassion. Meat from endangered species is prohibited. Food donors should sign up at the Moose Family Center or call 345-4002.

Combined Membership Okayed Gifts Dec. 11th
The Combined Men & Women Membership of the Moose Family Center approved these donations in December: $200 Toys for Tots; $500 Mankato Figure Skating Club; and $100 for Veterans on the Lake organization. The funds were pull tab gambling receipts. Holiday related items approved previously included: $1,500 for the Kids Holiday Party gifts and $6,500 for clothing for needy children.

Spaghetti Feed a Success - Member Appreciation Night Nov. 14, 2007
The free food ran out as the last Moose member got his fork. It was a great night for all who attended. Many found that the new temporary location of the Moose Family Center wasn't all that bad afterall. Activities Director Roger Hannum was pleased with the turnout and the fact that Dave Cowan was left with garlic toast crumbs as the last in the line.

5th Annual Moose Family Picnic @ Camp Patterson, August, 2007 - A Success
For two days last August we took over the 18 acre 150 bed Camp Patterson facility on nearby Lake Washington. Great fun was had by all, especially the kids. No boat sinkings were reported though the camp's fleet of paddleboats, kayats and canoes was well used. Prizes for archery and paddleboat competitions were an added bonus.

Moose Float Highlight of 7.9.05 North Mankato Fun Days Parad
We have reason to believe the Moose Family Center's float was judged Best Float and received honors as Most Entertaining Float.  The Moose Can Can Dancers attracted much attention and were able to keep their balance on the flatbed trailer as the float snaked through thousands of spectators.  True to his humble origins, Moose Lodge Governor H. Scott James indicated that we shouldn't let the awards go to our heads as some parade spectators felt that the 106 unit North Mankato Fun Days Parade was too long and exceptionally boring.
Annual Moose Golf Outing 9/24/06 a Success
On a beautiful Fall day, ten Moose members enjoyed Sunday morning golf out at Terrace View. All returned to tell their tales at the Moose Family Center where other Lodge members were watching the Minnesota Vikings play the Chicago Bears.
